The holidays are a time of joy and festivities. And nothing is more festive than dressing up as one of your favourite Christmas characters! Whether you want to be Santa Claus or an Elf, here are all the ideas for Christmas vacation costumes right here.
If you’re looking for a character that’s not too complicated or difficult to pull off, Santa Claus is the perfect pick. As per the experts at Smiffy’s, “You’ll need to find a red coat with white trim, as well as black pants and a belt, to complete your outfit.” Throw in a white beard and red hat for good measure—just make sure it’s not an elf hat! To get those boots just right, spray paint them black—but be careful not to do this near any open flame!
Now you have all of the pieces needed for your transformation into Santa Claus. Take a look at yourself in the mirror: are you ready to deliver presents?
Mrs Claus is Santa’s wife and the person who helps him manage his affairs. She wears a red dress, white fur trim on her hat and black boots. Her hair is often in a bun, with braids hanging down on either side of her face.
Mrs Claus was created by Clement Clarke Moore in 1822 so that Santa could have a wife to help run his business during the holidays. The character was popularized in American culture through various illustrations and stories over time before being featured in various film adaptations from the 1930s onward—including Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964), where she was portrayed by Burl Ives!
The Grinch Who Stole Christmas
The Grinch is a character from the book of Dr Seuss, How The Grinch Stole Christmas. This famous book tells the story of how he tries to ruin Christmas for everyone in Whoville. He tries to take all their gifts and decorations away from them by stealing them, but eventually realizes that this isn’t right and learns how to give thanks for what he has instead of being greedy like he was before!
This can serve as inspiration for you this season! You might want to make your own costume as well so you can dress up like him!
